We recently received a review that we’d like to share.  Not just to gloat on ourselves, but because it explains so perfectly what’s going on with many of these gold-buying companies. When you go to sell your gold, you should be informed so you know what to expect.

Hi there, wow what an amazing experience. I researched for a month where to sell my gold. I checked out over 20 websites for online only gold buying which supposedly give the most.  I found two links where people had sent the exact same gold packets to 3 sites and 10 sites and posted the payouts they got from each.

Let me interject for a moment – it’s important to do your research.  You should know there are a lot of companies out there with no accountability.  They may have a great looking website, but nowhere on it do they list their pay-outs.  Some will throw out percentages of how high they pay, but again, there is nothing listed on their site to know what that really means.

I used info from the top two sites to calculate their payout amounts per gram then I calculated what the payouts would be at Tulsa Gold & Gem based on the chart on their site.

We publish what we pay right on our site. We even provide a gold calculator and tell you how you can weigh your gold. That way, you have an idea what it is worth before you even sell it.

In every case Tulsa Gold & Gems would have paid more.

We don’t try to fool you with percentages that are most often misleading.  We don’t lump your gold in a pile and give you an overall amount.  We tell you what each item is worth. Our scales are state certified. Our gold examiners are NOT paid on commission. We even have an analyzer that ensures you’re getting paid what your item is worth.

2. We obviously need to know how much your item weighs – so again, we can make sure you’re getting paid as much as possible.  And we couldn’t make sure that happened if there were discrepancies when it comes to weighing – the possibility of our scales being off or one scale weighing differently than another. There was an article written a couple of years ago revealing that gold buyers scales are not checked by the government. Well, that is true. And according to a different gold buyer here in Tulsa, the government has never been by to check their scales – they supposedly just do it themselves. We don’t want any doubt amongst our customers. We want honesty and consistency. So, we didn’t wait to see if the government would just drop in to check them.  We voluntarily called them ourselves and asked them come certify our scales. Rest assured, every scale at Tulsa Gold & Gems is certified by the Oklahoma Weights and Measures to verify accuracy.

It’s Friday.

FRIDAY! So very thankful.

We’ve been sick. ALL 5 of us. I’ve barely been out of the house for 2 weeks now. And it’s been beautiful weather, so that just adds to the cabin fever. That, and everyone is better but me.

So, as I lay here with the beautiful sunshine streaming in and the sound of birds chirping…it hits me.  I gotta get better, because it’s SPRING CLEANING TIME!

Out with the old. Time to get ready for all the kids consignment sales that are coming up. Definite garage sale weather. Out with the old. Thinking some new spring clothes would be nice.  And a little get-a-way may be necessary.  But gas prices are sure sky-rocketing. So, new clothes or weekend away? Can’t swing both without using the credit card. Committed to not using the credit card. So, back to the choice.  New clothes or fabulous weekend away with the Hubs.

Hmmm… better get back to that spring cleaning. Wait. What is that in the far corner at the back of my drawer – something shiny is peeking out from behind a wad of empty candy wrappers. Got it.  It’s one single gold earring tangled up in a broken bracelet.  No match! As much as I loved those earrings and that bracelet, I’m excited. The benefits of SPRING CLEANING! I think I just solved my problem.  These babies are going to Tulsa Gold and Gems.  And I’m getting new duds and a relaxing weekend away.

Tulsa Hurricane fans came up empty in Arizona yesterday but the Oklahoma Sooners take home a huge win over Iowa in the Insight Bowl.

Fans from all over Oklahoma tuned in last night to see the Oklahoma Sooners dominate the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Insight Bowl.
Sooners from Grove to Broken Arrow and Tahlequah to Ponca City sang Boomer Sooner as they watched Bob Stoops OU Sooners win to cap off a good 2011 football season. The Tulsa Golden Hurricane didn’t fair so well in a close loss to BYU earlier in the day. All eyes will be on the Oklahoma State Cowboys as they take on Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl on Monday night.
